Journal Entry 7

Educators  play  an  important  role  in  helping  students  navigate  the  vast  amount  of  information  available  online.  In  today’s  digital  world,  teachers  are  not  only  responsible  for  delivering  content  but  also  for  guiding  students  on  how  to  find,  evaluate,  and  use  information  effectively.  This  includes  teaching  digital  literacy  skills  such  as  identifying  credible  sources, identifying   facts  from  opinions, and  recognizing  bias. As a future  e ducator I will    encourage  critical  thinking  by  teaching  students  to  compare  multiple  sources,  check  evidence,  and...

A current trend that I find rather challenging as a future teacher would definitely be the use of AI and how much value and importance it holds in the classroom and learning environment. AI is such a big deal not only in schools and education but in the world, allowing students the power of AI can be harmful in your classroom because some students become fully reliant and dependent on it. AI can be dangerous for students if they do not understand how it should be used strictly as a tool instead of fully using it to complete assignments or do assignments for you. Using AI can be useful if used correctly and not used to complete a full assignment for you. I believe this will be a challenge for me because of the power AI has, making sure that I am able to inform my students on the danger of AI and reminding them that it is only to be used as a tool will be a main priority in my classroom.

Meeting new people is a daily occurrence, some that are very similar to you and some that are very different whether that be the different beliefs or religions, skin color, gender, race, and overall views on life. However, this has never changed how I have treated someone. Being in a classroom I will meet tons of children with many different personalities and traits,  learning how they act, speak, and control themselves will be one of the many task I am willing to take in order to fully understand and treat them with the most respect. For example, I have a mixed family, my mother is Mexican and my dad is American, I look copy and paste of my mom so most people never assume I am half white. I also grew up in the church and still practice that to this day but never expect anyone to believe or have the same insights as me because everyone grows up differently and I just so happened to grow up learning a certain way that others might not have. I think it is extreme...

Baking and cooking are somethings I absolutely love to do. When I get home from work it is the first thing I do whether I make a snack or start making dinner for the night and prepare a dessert. How can this be a window for my students? Well, it can allow the students to learn about culture, do hands on activities,  math, and science. The food we eat everyday is some form of different culture, and you're constantly using measurements and ingredients. this allows students to have creativity and explore new types of foods and pastries. It mirrors growth and self care. Learning new recipes or creating something new in the kitchen, maybe I mess up a baked good one day and try to recreate hit and make it perfectly the next go around. This is also the time I relax and enjoy myself.

Standardized Testing            I was one of the students that always struggled with testing, I would get nervous and anxious. If I knew I had a test the next day I would beg my parents to let me stay home. When I got older I realized I had test anxiety, It would eat me alive all day I had to know what I got immediately and if I didn't I would be so nervous the whole day, but when I was younger I would get over it at recess. In grade school I remember taking STAR testing, and Placement testing these test were the test we prepared for every single year for the whole year. I remember we would get a piece of candy before or after these test. Teachers would tell us to try our best and make sure we take our time. We would go into the computer lab and take our test and after we would test we would get to pretty much relax the rest of the day. Have brain breaks, indoor or out...

Journal Entry #2 My experience all throughout school helped shape me to become a teacher by showing me that the teachers that were a light to me I could do for other students. Students of my own, I want to be able to encourage, love, care, teach, and support all of my students the way my teachers were to me. School was a safe spot for me, a chance to be with my friends, learn, and to feel seen by people who genuinely care. I was the child who got excited for summer to be over and sad for snow days. I loved going to school and seeing my friends and teachers it was a highlight for most of my elementary years. When I went to high school it was the same but more friends and more supportive teachers.  I have wanted nothing more than to teach and be a light for my students, however many people ask the same questions and say the same statements, "Are...
