Meeting new people is a daily occurrence, some that are very similar to you and some that are very different whether that be the different beliefs or religions, skin color, gender, race, and overall views on life. However, this has never changed how I have treated someone. Being in a classroom I will meet tons of children with many different personalities and traits, learning how they act, speak, and control themselves will be one of the many task I am willing to take in order to fully understand and treat them with the most respect. For example, I have a mixed family, my mother is Mexican and my dad is American, I look copy and paste of my mom so most people never assume I am half white. I also grew up in the church and still practice that to this day but never expect anyone to believe or have the same insights as me because everyone grows up differently and I just so happened to grow up learning a certain way that others might not have. I think it is extremely important to understand your students and the differences that they all will all have, being able to have a good read on your students and them being able to trust and talk to me is very important. I want my students to treat my classroom as a safe space for them, so making sure that I support their differences and understand them will be something I take very serious in my suture classroom.

  1. Your voice is authentic and personal, and I really appreciate how you connected your own multicultural background and faith experience to your perspective as a future teacher. That adds meaningful depth and shows self-awareness. You clearly value respect, trust, and creating a safe classroom, which are powerful foundations. To strengthen this further, focus on clearly separating the two parts of the prompt and expanding on how you will intentionally learn about students’ lives beyond general statements. Your heart for inclusion is evident. Now continue developing the structure and specificity so your strong voice is matched by equally strong reflection.
